Hi, reader!
Today’s trivia: In 2003, the American Film Institute released their list of the top 50 heroes and top 50 villains in film history. Who is the only character on both lists?
With that, welcome to the 115th newsletter! This one is all about Patience.
An experiment.
You are handed a bowl of dirty, cloudy water.
Your single objective is to make the water clear.
How would you make it clear?
(pause for a minute to see what you come up with!)
Got something?
If you’re like me, you probably said something like boil the water or filter it somehow.
A thought.
The simplest, most elegant solution?
Patience.
The dirt will eventually settle to the bottom and the water will become clear without any interference or meddling from us.
This approach is often what is needed when a situation in life is not clear.
When our thoughts are muddy.
When a solution is not clear.
When the next step is uncertain.
The simplest and most elegant solution could be to wait, have a little patience, and in time, the path or resolution will be made clear.
What situation is a little muddy and unclear in your life? How can you grace yourself with patience to get clarity?
A quote.
“Do you have the patience to wait till the mud settles and the water is clear? Can you remain unmoving till the right action arises by itself?”
- Lao Tzu
Answer: The Terminator
100%! A perspicacious view that is timely, Clay. Applicable to anyone - for the investor in the equity market, an employee, at home faced with a moment in crisis et.al.
This is such a good reminder. Many things get solved on their own with a little patience. It also aligns with the "Let Them Theory". Thanks for sharing.
