Happy Twosday, reader!
Two of my favorite basketball players of all time, LeBron James and Steph Curry share many things in common - including both being multiple NBA Most Valuable Player award winners. One thing many do not know is that out of the 7,000+ hospitals in the United States, they were both born at Akron General Medical Center.
With that, welcome to the 71st newsletter! This one is all about Things.
An app.
I have tried so many approaches to keep track of all the things in my life. Things like to-dos, ideas, quotes, lists, goals, recommendations, etc. I have tried Apple Notes, Trello, Evernote, emailing myself, texting myself and good ‘ol pen & paper.
Then, thanks to my friend Parker, I found Twos.
Twos is a simple system to write, remember, and share things - notes, tasks, reminders, calendar events, lists and more.
I highly recommend trying it - you won’t regret a thing.
A thought.
I could go into all the ways I use Twos, but I’ll detail out Two of my favorites:
First: Assigning things to a certain day.
For instance, I knew on July 2nd that I wanted to release this newsletter on August 15th. I typed the thing “Finalize Twos Newsletter” in Twos and then placed it on August 10th.
August 10th arrived and boom - there the thing is!
Second: Keeping track of my beliefs
I know, I know, beliefs sound like things I should remember on my own - why do I need to write them down? Answer: for clarity and holding myself accountable.
I segment my beliefs into various categories like Family, Parenting, Health, Purpose, Work, Money.
When I come across a quote or an idea that applies to my belief - I write that thing down and can move it to the appropriate category.
For instance, I discovered the following tactic (from this book) that reinforces a belief I have about parenting:
Limit commands, cue them instead. Example: instead of saying “put your plate in the sink”, say “let’s work as a team to clean up”.
So I typed that thing in Twos and moved it to to my Parenting list within “Beliefs”
It’s been fun to curate this list over time. As I occasionally revisit the list, without fail I am grateful I wrote these things down because they certainly didn’t stay in my brain for long.
What things will you write down?
A quote.
“Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them.”

Very enjoyable read and thank you so much for including Twos. We all need to better ways of remembering *things* ✌️❤️
