Hi, reader!
Happy Summer to those in the Northern Hemisphere! Anchorage, Alaska is currently averaging 20 hours of daylight each day. That’s enough for 72 holes of golf, at least!
With that, welcome to the 42nd newsletter! This one is all about the Sun.
Some fun trivia before we get started: How many Earth’s could fit inside the Sun? Answer at the bottom.
A listen.
Cloudy Day by Tones and I
What better way to kick off summer than with an upbeat, fun song (that my family has been jamming to for weeks).
The chorus has some great advice from ‘momma’:
“Your momma always said, "Look up into the sky, find the sun on a cloudy day"
Tones and I is right, my momma did always say this.
A thought.
What’s the very first thing you do each morning?
If you’re like me and billions of others, you grab your phone.
Emails, texts, posts, weather, calendar and alerts coming at you when you haven’t even had your coffee.
What if you tried to find the Sun instead?
Wake up, put on some clothes (let’s be decent for your neighbors) and step outside. Find the Sun and do whatever suits you for 5 minutes. The day is already here - no need to be in a hurry.
Sit on your front steps.
Go for a walk.
Do some jumping jacks.
Stretch.
Will you try it tomorrow?
A quote.
"As the Sun peaks over the mountain, it's a new day on our miraculous planet. Reason alone for celebration."
